Heading to Lake Kol Tor: A Jewel High in the Mountains

After our break at Lake Kul Ukok, we saddle up to continue our ascent towards Lake Kol Tor. The terrain becomes more rugged, and at one point, we must dismount to continue on foot, as the path is too steep for the horses.

This portion of the trek is challenging, but every step brings us closer to even more spectacular views.

Set high up, nestled in the folds of a massive mountain, Lake Kol Tor reveals itself in all its glory, with its intensely blue waters contrasting with the steep rocky walls surrounding it. When we finally reach this hidden gem, we find ourselves alone to admire it, enjoying the absolute calm and the feeling of being at the end of the world.

Even though we had to leave our horses below, the beauty of the place makes this climb on foot all the more memorable and rewarding.
